RITZVILLE, Wash. — Washington State Senator Mark Schoesler was cited for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) in Ritzville last month.

According to documents filed by the District Court of Washington for Adams County, police officers responded to reports of a suspected DUI collision in the parking lot at the Ritzville Fairgrounds at around 11:30 p.m. the night of Saturday, August 31.

The documents further detail that an officer found Schoesler in the driver's seat of his truck and "showed obvious signs of intoxication." Documents also say witnesses saw Schoesler back into another car and tried to leave.

According to the documents, Schoesler was asked to do multiple voluntary field sobriety tests, which police said showed multiple cues of intoxication.

Documents said Schoesler was unable to conduct a portable breath test and was arrested for suspicion of DUI.

Two breath samples showed Schoesler had IR levels of 0.144 and 0.139 and EC levels of 0.150 and 0.144.

Schoesler was cited for driving or being in control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
