SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane City Councilmember Jonathan Bingle will be running for Congress.
Bingle was sworn in to represent Northeast Spokane's District 1 on the Spokane City Council in 2021. Bingle is the second conservative-leaning member of the current council alongside Michael Cathcart, who also hails from District 1.
Bingle was born in Spokane and graduated from Rogers High School. He attended Spokane Falls Community College before leaving to start Bingle Enterprises Inc. He served as a pastor at the Genesis Church in North Spokane.
In 2019, Bingle ran for Spokane mayor but did not advance to the primary election. He was voted onto the Spokane city council two years later.
Bingle's campaign message calls for "An American Revival."
"Our country has provided freedom and opportunity for more people than any country in the history of the world. Our American Revival is about remembering why America is great and once again believing that it is good."
