SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — In the first count of votes from Tuesday night's primary election, Jerrod Sessler is leading the polls for Washington's 4th Congressional District.
Jerrod Sessler is leading the polls by 20,703 votes.
Dan Newhouse, who currently holds the 4th Congressional District seat, is seeking reelection. He has 17,365 votes.
If Newhouse is not reelected, his term will end January 3, 2025.
Newhouse is one of two Republicans left in Congress who voted to impeach former President Trump.
If results hold, Newhouse and Sessler will face each other in the November general election.
