SPOKANE, Wash. — In the first count of votes from Tuesday night's election, Michael Baumgartner is leading the polls for Washington's 5th Congressional District.
Baumgartner is leading right now with 177,555 votes, and Carmela Conroy has 118,896 votes.
Baumgartner and Conroy are seeking to take over the office in place of Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers, who has held the position since 2005 and announced earlier this year that she would not seek reelection.
