SPOKANE The City of Spokane mulled over what to do with the old YMCA building and the land it sat on for months before decided to expand the Riverfront Park.
The 45-year-old building was torn down because it was filled with asbestos. Now, after months of construction, the space has more trails and look out points. Though, park maintenance crews plan to leave fences around the area to let the grass grow in.
The cost for the project is around $5 million.
