SPOKANE -- Congratulations to Honor Flight. The group left Wednesday morning on another trip to Washington, D.C.

34 WWII veterans get to see the memorial built in their honor.

Of the trip, KREM 2 Facebook friend Julie Breshearswrote, 'We were just at the memorial last week and it was so awesome to see all of the honor flight vets and their families there. This is such a great program and idea. I just wish my grandfather had lived long enough to see it.'

In addition to the WWII veterans, the trip is dedicated to Jerrod Lallier. The former Mead High School student was killed in Afghanistan in June at the age of 20.

The group flies back to Spokane on Friday, arriving at 5:45 at Spokane International Airport. In previous Honor Flights, members of the community have turned out to welcome them back from their trip, letting them know they haven't forgotten about -and appreciate -their service.
