Checkpoint savvy

Busiest times: Weekday mornings, 7 a.m. - 8 a.m.

Workarounds: Concourse A and B gates accessible via the Terminal Security Checkpoint. TSA wait times displayed at checkpoint entrance, and online. 

Depending on your airline and your status with TSA, expedited TSA PreCheck lanes may be available.

Parking

Parking information: 859-767-3105 (24 hours).

Most convenient: Valet, $24/day. Premium reserved, $19/day. Terminal Garage, $15/day. Golf carts are available to shuttle passengers between their cars and the Terminal Garage elevators/escalators.

Least expensive: ValuPark Lot, $8/day ($1/day discount with AAA).

Electric vehicle charging stations are available in the Terminal Garage and in the ValuPark Lot.

Cellphone lot: Located west of the terminal, on the driver’s right side on approach to the terminal. Amenities: portable restrooms, flight information board and free Wi-Fi. 

Transportation to/from city

Most convenient: A taxi ride to downtown Cincinnati will cost about $34. Shared shuttle vans also available. Ride-hailing services Lyft and Uber are permitted to operate at CVG. See more options.

Least expensive: TANK (Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky) bus Route 2X/Airporter express between the airport, Covington and downtown Cincinnati. Bus has free Wi-Fi. Fare: $2. Time: About 30 minutes. See more options.

Wi-Fi and charging stations

Free Wi-Fi service access throughout the airport. Charging stations are located throughout Concourses A and B.

Tips and tidbits

CVG has a full-service bank branch, children's play areas in Concourses A and B, a pet-relief area outside the bag claim level, and two locations of the Massage Bar. USO Military lounges are located in Concourses A and B. 

A smoking lounge is located in the Concourse B food court. The Club at CVG ( Concourse A) offers lounge amenities to all travelers for a fee. A TSA Pre-Check enrollment/application center is on the baggage claim level. Miniature therapy horses are on site twice a month to greet travelers. See more options.

Nearby layover option

Newport on the Levee, 13 miles from CVG (on the Newport waterfront), has a 20-screen cinema, restaurants and The Newport Aquarium. The Cincinnati Contemporary Art Museum in downtown Cincinnati is also about 13 miles from CVG. See more options
