SPOKANE, Wash. — A woman is in the hospital in critical condition after crashing into a light pole in north Spokane on Thursday.
According to the Spokane Police Department, officers were trying to pull someone over. Police said the driver drove off, and police said they did not try to pursue the car due to police policy and for the safety of others in the area.
Police said the car went south on Crestline. Police were later advised the car crashed into a light pole and into a neighbor's front yard near the post office in the area after witnesses flagged down an officer.
The woman was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition. There was a man in the passenger seat, who was also taken to the hospital. The man's condition is unknown at this time.
Spokane Police said this is an ongoing investigation.
