Evacuations downgraded to level 1 for wildfire in Grant County

Grant County Sheriff's Office is asking people near Beverly to leave now as a wildfire burns along the Columbia River.

GRANT COUNTY, Wash. — Level 2 and 3 evacuations have been downgraded to level 1 for people in Beverly, Wash. due to a 20-acre wildfire. 

The evacuation areas originally included:

From A St to Morrison St. To the Columbia River and the town of Beverly. 

Washington State Patrol reports the fire started by a semi-collision on SR 243. The fire was reported to be burning toward the Columbia River. SR 243 is closed at Beverly Burke Road and at the south side of the town of Beverly.
