All evacuations lifted for Cimmaron Fire burning near Dishman Hills area

Level 2 (Get Set) and Level 1 (Get Ready) evacuations were initially issued for people near the fire.

SPOKANE, Wash. — All evacuations have been lifted for a wildfire burning near East 44th Avenue in south Spokane County.

According to Spokane County Emergency Management, people living in the following areas were under Level 2 (Get Set) evacuations.

  • Appleway on the North
  • 44th on the South
  • Sunderland on the East
  • Sherring on the West

Level 1 Evacuations were also issued for people living in the following areas.

  • Thierman on the West
  • Dishman Mica on the East
  • Ferret on the South

Those Level 1 evacuations have since been dropped.

Spokane County Emergency Management said conditions could get worse in the area. 

The fire is being called the Cimmaron Fire.

According to the Spokane Valley Fire Department, the fire has burned 25 acres and is burning in heavy timber with steep slopes and it moving moderately with light winds.

Spokane Valley Fire also said the fire is 100% wet lines and zero percent contained. Ten structures are being protected and no structures have been lost.
