Spokane Valley Fire Department responding to reported brush fire

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — The Spokane Valley Fire Department (SVFD) is responding to a reported brush fire right now.

The fire department says the reported brush fire is burning near Appleway Boulevard and South Park Road in Spokane Valley.

SVFD is asking drivers to be careful around emergency vehicles and to avoid the area.

The fire department said units with the Spokane Fire Department and the Department of Natural Resources are also on the scene of the fire. The fire department said Appleway Boulevard is down to two lanes at Park.

Spokane Valley Fire said forward progress has stopped for the fire, and crews have a line around the fire. The fire department said the fire is around four acres.

Spokane Valley Fire also said DNR will be on scene throughout the night mopping up the fire.

UPDATE: Multiple SVFD units, along with SFD and DNR are now on scene of this brush fire. Appleway is down to two lanes at Park. Slow down through the area and give emergency crews plenty of space. #SVFD
