Level 3 (Go Now!) evacuations downgraded to Level 1 for wildfire burning in Oroville

OROVILLE, Wash. — Level 3 (Go Now!) evacuations have been downgraded to Level 1 for a wildfire burning in Oroville, Washington.

Okanogan County Emergency Management (OCEM) said people near Palmer Mountain Road and Charm Road in Oroville needed to leave immediately and evacuate toward Wannacut Lake.

OCEM said the fire is moving north of Palmer Mountain Road and Charm Road. OCEM lists the following roads as affected roads due to the fire:

  • Bob Road
  • Hidden Road
  • Ridge Road
  • One Road
  • Second Road
  • Palmer Mountain Road
  • Connect Road

OCEM also said Level 1 (Get Ready!) evacuations have been issued for people living near Eighme Road. 

The fire is being called the Charm Road Fire.

OCEM said to not wait for door-to-door notifications and to leave as soon as possible. OCEM also wants evacuees to be careful of emergency vehicles responding in the area.

OCEM said forward progress on the fire has stopped and the fire is 85% lines.
