CLARK FORK, Idaho — Level 1 (READY) evacuations are still in place for a wildfire called the Buckskin 2 Fire near Clark Fork, Idaho.
According to the Idaho Panhandle National Forests (IPNF), as of August 17, the fire has burned 242 acres, eight miles south of Clark Fork, Idaho. Containment is up to 27%. Level 1 evacuations have been issued by Bonner County Emergency Management (BCEM).
The following areas in Clark Fork are under Level 1 (READY) evacuations:
- Twin Creek Road
- Rearden Creek Road
BCEM advises people in the evacuation zone to begin organizing in case an evacuation is necessary.
Forest Closure Order is in effect for roads associated with the Buckskin Fire; the intersection of Forest Service Roads 203 and 332, the intersection of FSR 1021 and 332, and 1533 and 306 in Clark Fork. UTV trail 77 is closed as well. An extension of the FSR 203 closure, extending to the edge of private land, is pending. The public is prohibited from the general area for firefighter safety and asked to practice caution while driving near firefighters and apparatuses.
The Buckskin fire was reported on Aug. 4. The fire is burning on steep terrain. It is estimated to be two miles away from the nearest residence.
More firefighting resources have been requested.
