IDAHO, USA — Wildfire season is still on the minds of many in the Inland Northwest, and Idaho has already spent lots of money fighting fires this year.
New numbers coming from the Idaho Department of Lands (IDL) shows more than 620,000 acres of land have burned across the gem state this wildfire season.
According to IDL, the state has spent over $39 million fighting fires this year.
The Texas Fire and the Gwen Fire burned thousands of acres in North Idaho this year.
The Gwen Fire destroyed 38 homes and 122 outbuildings.
Across the state of Idaho, 271 confirmed fires were recorded. IDL said 121 of those fires were human-caused.
