All evacuations lowered to Level 1 for wildfire in Wenatchee

Chelan County Emergency Management says the evacuations were lowered to Level 1 around noon on Monday.

WENATCHEE, Wash. — UPDATE at noon -  All evacuation levels have been reduced to Level 1 for the Squilchuck Road Fire. Chelan County Emergency Management is asking residents near the fire to stay alert.

UPDATE at 8 a.m. - The Level 2 evacuations for the 3200 block of Squilchuck Road have been lowered to a Level 1. The road at Squilchuck and Methow Street is open to everyone now.

The Level 3 for the Wenatchee Heights area that includes the west end of Connery Road and north of Jim Smith Road remains in effect. We will re-evaluate that level later this morning.

UPDATE at 12:10 a.m. - According to Chelan County Emergency Management (CCEM), the Level 3 & 2 evacuations will remain in place overnight.

According to the Washington State Fire Marshal's Office, the fire's burned an estimated 25 acres and is burning in brush, sage & timber.

State mobilization's been authorized to fight this fire, according to officials.

CCEM said the fire's 30% contained as of Sunday night.

Level 3 (Go Now!) Evacuations have been issued in Wenatchee due to a wildfire. 

Chelan County Emergency Management says those living near the west end of Connery Road and the north end of Jim Smith Road in Wenatchee Heights should leave now. 

Level 2 (Get Set) Evacuations have also been ordered for the 3200 block of Squilchuck Road. 

Traffic on Methow Street and Squilchuck Road is currently closed. 

Fire crews are asking people to avoid the area while they work to contain the fire.
