GRANT COUNTY, Wash. — The Grant County Sheriff's Office issued a Level 3 (Go Now!) Evacuation for the McConihe area north of Moses Lake Thursday afternoon. Those evacuations have now been canceled
Here is what you need to know as of 4:45 p.m.:
- Evacuation Level 3 (Go Now!) for Neppel Road from Road E-North East to the 8000 block of Neppel canceled
- People who evacuated can return to their homes but remain aware of fire conditions
- The fire has currently burned 100 acres
- The fire is now under control and in mop-up
- 60 homes were threatened, none damaged
- 1-2 outbuildings have been lost
- 3 agencies are responding: Fire District 5, 13 and Moses Lake Fire Department
- Winds are currently blowing south at 16-20 mph
- The fire is spreading northeast
- The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
