A brush fire is currently burning near Highway 195 and Mullen Hill Road in Spokane. The fire is estimated to be 10 acres and Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) says the fire is at high risk of spreading.

Fire crews are working to close Highway 195 due to the fire. The closure will be between South Hatch Road and East Excelsior Road.

Spokane County Fire District 8, the City of Spokane Fire Department and DNR are currently on the scene managing the fire.

Air support crews have also been called to aid with firefighting but were delayed due to a drone in the area.

Spokane County Fire District 3 says that residents living in or traveling near the area should stay vigilant to any changes in the fire and travel carefully so that fire crews can work safely.
