Brush fire breaks out from apparent downed power line on Spokane's South Hill

This comes as high wind and dust storm alerts were issued across the Inland Northwest.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Fire Department is responding to a brush fire at S Southeast Blvd and S Regal St on Spokane's South Hill. 

The fire appears to be started by a downed power line, though fire officials have not confirmed.

According to the Spokane Fire Department, crews are mopping up the fire now. Forward progress for the fire has stopped.

South Southeast Boulevard is closed for the time being as crews work to put out the fire.

NWS Spokane has issued both Wind Advisories and Blowing Dust Advisories across the Inland Northwest from 2 to 11 p.m. on Tuesday.
