Crews respond to brush fire near Minnehaha Park

Crews say the fire burned 1/3 of an acre and no evacuations were issued.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Multiple fire crews are responding to a brush fire near Minnehaha Park.

According to Spokane County Fire District 9, crews with Fire District 9, the Spokane Fire Department, the Washington Department of Natural Resources and the Spokane Valley Fire Department were at the scene of a brush fire off East Frederick Avenue and North Custer Road just south of the Beacon Hill area.

Forward progress eventually stopped on the fire. Fire crews put a wet line in place and crews are putting in a hand-line. Fire District 9 also said crews will be on scene mopping up the fire.

Fire District 9 said the fire burned one-third of an acre. There were no evacuations issued.
