PULLMAN, Wash. – Signs saying, “It’s ok to be white” were found on the Washington State University campus Monday.

Vice President of University Communications Phil Weiler said facility staff immediately tried to remove the signs from the Glenn Terrell Friendship Mall but it was not easy.

Weiler said signs like this have been showing up at campuses around the country. He said its unclear who is putting them up or what their exact message is. However, Weiler said one could reasonably believe the intention of the signs is to set a sense of fear and intimidation on campus.

This is not the first time a sign like this has showed up on the WSU campus. Weiler said a similar sign was found in the past.
