SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) announced on Friday that the trout fishing season in West Medical Lake has been extended to October 13.

Additionally, the daily limits on trout fishing have been removed and no minimum size is in place.

The season extension applies to trout only. All other fish species must be released.

WDFW says the extension is due to a scheduled treatment of piscicide rotenone for fish management purposes in the West Medical Lake.

Fishing for all species will be closed on October 14.

WDFW says fishers must have a current Washington fishing license, appropriate to the area. Check the WDFW "Fishing in Washington" rules pamphlet for details on specific definitions and regulations.
