SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Washington State Patrol (WSP) is investigating a deadly crash that happened in Spokane Valley late Tuesday morning.

According to WSP, the two-car crash happened at East Trent Avenue and North Park Road. WSP said a car was heading south on Park at Trent when it entered the intersection and was hit by another car heading west on Trent at Park.

WSP said the 64-year-old man heading south on Park at Trent was pronounced dead at the scene.

WSP said the cause of the crash was failure to yield.

WSP said all westbound lanes were blocked in the area, and eastbound lanes were split so traffic could pass in both directions Tuesday morning. Traffic is now open in the area.

WSP asked drivers to find alternative routes in the area and to be patient as law enforcement investigated the scene.
