SEATTLE — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineering (USACE) is seeking public input regarding the Albeni Falls Dam Project Master Plan, which is set to be updated this year.
The USACE hosted meetings in June in both Priest River and Ponderay in hopes of informing the public on the purpose of the Master Plan and receiving feedback.
The current Master Plan was created five years ago and the USACE says that there have been natural changes and some concerns identified.
According to the USACE’s website, the plan is a strategic land-use management tool that guides the development and usage of resources throughout a project.
However, the Master Plan does not address fish passage, lake level management, dam operations or the current spillway gate restrictions, according to a press release from the USACE.
The USACE will welcome any input regarding the management of natural and recreational resources until July 31, 2024.
