SPOKANE-- Last year the Department of Revenue recouped $70 million from unregistered businesses in Washington alone.
That number might alarm you, but if you look closer, many of them are right at your fingertips.

More and more you'll see postings offering services like auto repair or lawn care and they're not all legitimate.
Many of these so-called 'businesses' aren't even licensed in Washington.
There is potential that they are not insured nor meet quality requirements.
It also means they aren't paying crucial taxes to the state.
