Two popular Pullman restaurants up for sale as owners retire

Cougar Country Drive-In and Zoe Coffee & Kitchen are now available to buy.

PULLMAN, Wash. — KREM 2 confirmed that Zoe Coffee & Kitchen and Cougar Country Drive-In in Pullman are up for sale.

The current owners of both restaurants, Mike and Terry Wagoner, are looking forward to retiring.

"I just turned 71 a couple days ago, and I’ve had the realization that, even though I feel like I could do this for another decade, I owe it to my wife, kids and grandkids to take a step back and move into the slow lane," Mike said. "Fishing time!"

The original Zoe Coffee & Kitchen location opened in February 2006. Two years later, the shop in the Interfaith House on the WSU campus came to be.

According to their website, Zoe Coffee & Kitchen's WSU coffee stop was affectionately dubbed "Zoe Underground" by students and received the ASWSU Student Choice Award for Best Coffee Shop in Pullman for several years.

When that WSU shop was sold, Mike and Terry dove head first into renovating what is the current location of Zoe Coffee & Kitchen.

Cougar Country Drive-In has been open since 1973.

Mike and Terry bought the Drive-In in 2019 and saved the business after the previous owner abruptly shuttered the restaurant. The couple gutted the place and remodeled while keeping the nostalgia of the Pullman staple.

Zoe Coffee & Kitchen and Cougar Country Drive In are now looking for new owners top keep the beloved Pullman spots running.
