SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A man died at the hospital following a crash on Highway 27 at Valleyway Avenue Friday night.
According to Washington State Patrol (WSP), a 73-year-old man was hit by a pickup truck while running across the road.
WSP closed the southbound lanes of Highway 27 at Valleyway Avenue in Spokane Valley on Friday night to investigate the crash. Valleyway Avenue is open as of Saturday morning.
WSP originally reported the crash as an injury collision and that first responders were performing CPR. They later updated the report to reflect that the pedestrian had died after being taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center.
WSP says they do not believe drugs or alcohol to have been involved in the crash. The driver and the passenger of the truck were not injured.
