Spokane Valley drive-by shooting suspect accused of Second Degree Murder

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Spokane Valley authorities have charged a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting on E. Trent Ave. and N. Argonne Road on August 18.

43-year-old Marc Rinard was charged with Second Degree murder, Drive-by Shooting and First Degree Assault.

According to Spokane County Sheriff’s the adult male victim was driving with a female passenger when they stopped for a red light at the intersection with N. Argonne Road. Rinard then pulled his black Dodge truck to the side of the victim’s vehicle and allegedly began yelling at the victim and passenger.

Sheriff’s say Rinard then opened fire on the victim before allegedly fleeing the scene.

Despite the efforts of the Good Samaritans, Deputies, and Spokane Valley Fire personnel, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The adult female passenger was not physically injured.

Sheriffs say that it appears that Rinard did not know the victim.

The fatal shooting is being investigated by Spokane Valley Major Crimes Detectives with the assistance of Washington State Patrol Investigators.
