Summertime means street work in Coeur d'Alene

Street crews brave the heat to complete several millions of dollars worth of road work.

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — Summer, with increased traffic and soaring temperatures, might not seem the opportune time for the city of Coeur d'Alene to begin several street projects that may annoy drivers.

But it is.

"This is the time of year we do it," said Todd Feusier, Streets and Engineering director, Tuesday. "It can't be done in the winter. We need dry, warm temperatures."

Street work costing several million dollars is going on throughout the city. Drivers should expect delays, reduced speed, detours and reduced parking.
