SPOKANE, Wash. — Looking for some sports fun for the kids? Registration for the inaugural Spokane Gleason Life Skills Clinic is open.
The clinic offers boys and girls, ages 9 to 14, training to become better football players.
The clinic also teaches kids skills based on Steve Gleason's philosophies for being successful in life.
Registration for the clinic is $150 and will be held at the Bullpup Stadium in Spokane on August 3 and 4.
The organizers say the clinic is for kids who are already familiar with the rules of football and have some experience playing.

Spokane Native and former Washington State University and New Orleans Saints football player Steve Gleason was most recently honored at the ESPYs for his years-long battle against ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.
Gleason played 8 seasons for the Saints and had one of its most memorable plays, blocking a punt against the Atlanta Falcons that led to a touchdown in the team's first game back in the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina.
He played one more season with the team and shortly after received his diagnosis and began a battle that he chronicled with a documentary that received much acclaim.
