PULLMAN, Wash. — The Washington State Senate adopted a floor resolution Wednesday honoring former Pullman Mayor Glenn Johnson.
This news comes just a month after Johnson retired as mayor after 20 years of serving the Pullman community.
In addition to serving five terms as Pullman's mayor, Johnson also worked as a professor at Washington State University's Edward R. Murrow College of Communications. For 35 years, he taught courses in television news, communications management and other subjects.
Johnson has worked as the school's public address announcer for football and basketball games since 1980. While he will be stepping down as mayor, Johnson said he will continue to work as the "Voice of the Cougs" at WSU.
