SPOKANE, Wash. — A 22-year-old Spokane woman is dead after a tornado swept through Toluca, Mexico, on Thursday, May 23.

According to GoFundMe, Lexi Thorp visited her fiancé in Mexico to determine which country they would prefer to live in after getting married.

Lexi was out with her fiancé's brother when there was an unexpected tornado. The tornado forced a brick wall to collapse on both of them, killing them instantly.

"Lexi was a funny, outgoing, and beautiful soul," the GoFundMe said. "Lexi was generous, kind, and free-spirited. Lexi made it her mission to share her kind spirit with everyone she crossed paths with. Her smile and laugh were infectious, and she brightened up the lives of everyone who knew her. We will miss her forever."

According to her father, Lexi was returned to Spokane, and a service to honor her life will be coming sometime in the following weeks.
