SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane residents looking to celebrate Earth Day can do so by helping clean up the city's river.
The Spokane Riverkeeper is hosting a river clean-up event at High Bridge Park on Saturday, April 20, starting at 10 a.m. The event is part of an ongoing effort to protect and preserve the Spokane River. The event is open to the public and to anyone who wants to volunteer.
Spokane Riverkeeper said this event is aiming to remove litter and debris from the riverbank. Supplies will be provided but volunteers are encouraged to dress for outdoor work.
"We are excited to celebrate Earth Day by giving back to our community and the environment," said Jule Schultz, Spokane Riverkeeper. "This event provides an opportunity for people to come together, make a positive impact, and show their commitment to protecting our river."
Supplies will be provided for volunteers and attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately for outdoor work. For more information on how to volunteer, click here.
