Spokane Regional Health District releases new respiratory illness data dashboard

The SRHD launches a new interactive dashboard to inform users on current COVID-19 and other respiratory illness trends.

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — Spokane Regional Health District (SRHD) launched a new respiratory illness dashboard that allows users to access information about COVID-19, flu and RSV trends in Spokane County.

The dashboard expands on the previous dashboard by adding data on flu and RSV impacts.

According to a press release from the SRHD, the dashboard collects reports from organizations like the Washington State Disease Reporting System, the Washington State Department of Health, and any sample surveillance of local water reclamation facilities in order to compile statistics in one location.

The dashboard includes information on emergency department visits that end in diagnoses of respiratory illnesses, hospitalizations, and mortality rates based on COVID-19 or flu, and virus levels in wastewater.

“The respiratory illness dashboard allows SRHD to share information directly to the community,” said Communicable Disease Investigation and Prevention Manager Mark Springer. “Seeing illness trends and virus levels in wastewater will allow organizations and people in the community to make informed policies and decisions that could ultimately save lives.”

The dashboard is updated weekly. To access the dashboard, click here.
