Spokane police officer fired after being cleared of domestic violence charges

The Spokane Police Department found Officer Nick Spolski violated department policies.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Although a Spokane police officer was cleared of domestic violence charges earlier this year, he was fired from the police department for violating department policies.

Officer Nick Spolski was terminated from the department effective immediately, Spokane police said in a press release on Thursday afternoon.

Spolski was arrested on domestic violence charges in December 2017. He was placed on administrative leave following the allegations, the department said.

A jury found him not guilty on four counts of domestic violence in February 2019.

A SPD internal Affairs investigation, however, determined that Spolski violated department policies.

The department did not specify which policies Spolski violated.
