Spokane Police Department identifies man accused of homicide in Logan neighborhood

SPD has accused a man who is currently in Kootenai County Jail of a Spokane homicide.

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Police Department says they have identified the man accused of shooting and killing a woman in the Logan neighborhood on July 21.

Travis R. Johnson, 41, is being charged with Second Degree Murder and is currently being held at Kootenai County Jail on unrelated charges.

SPD says they are working with the Spokane County Prosecutors Office to extradite Johnson to Spokane County to face the charges.

According to SPD, officers were called to a home at North Hamilton Street near East Jackson Avenue on July 21 for reports of gunshots in the area.

Officers found a woman dead in the home and SPD said the Major Crimes Unit determined that the woman's death was a homicide.
