National Drug Take Back Day | Here's where you can drop off old medication in the Inland Northwest

Since it started, the DEA has collected more than 8,000 tons of medication.

SPOKANE, Wash. — People in the Inland Northwest are encouraged to dispose of old and unused medication as part of the 25th National Drug Take Back Day.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will be on-site at several locations to collect pills, tablets, capsules, patches and other forms of solid prescription drugs. The Spokane Police Department and Idaho police agencies will also be at locations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to collect the medication.

Take Back Day gives people the chance to anonymously dispose of unneeded medication for free. It is part of the DEA's initiative to help people get rid of old, expired or unwanted medication. These sites will not accept syringes, sharps or other illegal drugs. Liquid medication, such as cough syrup, should be sealed in their original bottles. The cap must be tightly sealed, so nothing leaks out.

The DEA and local law enforcement will collect these medications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Check down below for a list of some locations.
