SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – The City of Spokane Valley is looking to fill two vacancies on the City Council.
The City is accepting applications after Dean Grafos and Chuck Hafner both resigned.
The individuals appointed to fill the two positions will serve as interim council members until candidates selected by voters in the November 2017 election can be certified.
Those eligible to apply must be:
- A citizen of the United States,
- 18 years of age or older,
- A resident of the City of Spokane Valley for a year or more preceding appointment,
- A registered voter in the City of Spokane Valley at the time of application,
- Cannot be a convicted felon (unless those civil rights have been restored pursuant to Washington State RCW 9.96 and RCW 42.04.020,) and
- May not hold any other office or employment within the City of Spokane Valley government.

Completed applications are due to the City Clerk on Friday, May 13, 2016, no later than 4:00 p.m.
