SPOKANE, Wash. — Note: The above video discusses city ordinances, including new changes to the bike share program in Spokane.
Riverfront Park in downtown Spokane is offering a new way to get out and enjoy the park.
Starting Saturday, visitors will be able to rent pedal karts.
The karts will be available at the Numerica Skate Ribbon and SkyRide Building. They will cost $7.95 for a half hour rental and $9.95 for an hour. Single and double karts are available.
Helmets are required and they can be borrowed when you get your rental.
The City of Spokane is also bringing back a bike sharing program. City council recently passed amendments that will allow the programs to operate permanently. They passed other amendments that would not force riders to wear helmets, instead requiring them to perform safety education and outreach.
The changes also expand the area where riders can use bikes and scooters on sidewalks, adding a section of downtown between Bernard Street and Division Street to the restriction zone.
