SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Park Board approved a naming partnership with Numerica Credit Union and the Riverfront Skate Ribbon and SkyRide.
Spokane Parks and Recreation officials said the partnership would provide additional free and low-cost programs and programming operations funds.
Starting Friday, the Numerica Skate Ribbon and Skyride will celebrate the naming with free admission to the Skate Ribbon in exchange for a donation to Second Harvest. Second Harvest is looking for donations like canned fish and lean meats, healthy soups and stews, dry or canned beans, whole grain pasta, rice and cereal, canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter and nut butters. The promotion will end on Monday.
“This partnership between Riverfront Spokane and Numerica exemplifies our commitment to helping communities live well by coming together and celebrating the events and people that make this an amazing place to live,” said Carla Cicero, Numerica president and CEO.
According to park leaders, the 2012 Riverfront Park Master Plan encouraged the exploration of public and private sponsorships to sustain the community’s investment in the park.
