N. Spokane Walmart sells Spokane-opoly

It comes with dice, game pieces, keys, game money and a board that represents Spokane.

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Walmart on North Division is carrying a new version of Monopoly, “Spokane-opoly.”

It comes with dice, game pieces, keys, game money and a board that represents Spokane.

Spokane-opoly has several properties that are familiar to Spokane, the Centennial Trail, Monroe Street Bridge, Riverfront Park and the Fox Theatre. You may notice a South Hill property has the Clock Tower. Do not be alarmed, the game is not suggesting they are in the same location. It is used to mark the four different railroad spaces, which is quite fitting.

What is traditionally considered the jail space, in Spokane-opoly it is the traffic jam space. The only way to get out of it is by rolling doubles.

There are "contingency" and "big fun" cards, and depending on what you draw, you might become Miss Spokane, or elected Mayor.

The most expensive property costs $425 for Downtown Spokane. The least expensive property is $70 for the birthplace of Father's Day.

As for the game pieces, we have not quite figured out their ties to Spokane. There is a dog, pretzel, hand, heart, shoe, smiley face.

Spokane-opoly was created by the company "Late to the Sky," and it's exclusively available at Walmart. They cost just $20.
