FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. — Fairchild Air Force Base was presented with the 2016 Omaha trophy for the Strategic Aircraft category Friday.
The award recognizes the best air-refueling wing, reconnaissance wing or airborne communications wing assigned to the U.S. Strategic Command.
According to Fairchild AFB officials, this will be the second year in a row Fairchild has received this award.
"This is a testament to the commitment of our innovative Airmen who continue to
fulfill our mission of enabling Rapid Global Mobility,” Colonel Ryan Samuelson, 92nd Air Refueling Wing commander said in a statement.
According to a press release from Fairchild AFB, the trophy is presented annually as a token of appreciation to the command’s best wing.
