Dwayne Johnson's 'Titan Games' welcomes local lumberjill to competition

In September, Erin LaVoie went to Los Angeles for two weeks to compete and film "The Titan Games." She said she was more than ready when it was her turn to try the course.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Local lumberjill world champion Erin LaVoie is taking her fitness skills to national television.

She is a competitor in the new fitness competition series, The Titan Games.

Created by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the show features athletes from all around the country competing for a cash prize.

LaVoie received the call to audition for the show in July 2018.

When she first arrived, she didn’t think she would be selected for the show.

“I went down there, and I walked in, and there were like a hundred other people,” she said.

But only a little while later, she received a notification stating she had been selected to be a competitor.

In September, she went to Los Angeles for two weeks to compete and film the show.

She said she was more than ready when it was her turn to try the course.

“They called us out, and we got to finally see what we were doing,” she said. “We got to do the walkthrough and then go backstage, do hair and makeup and get our costumes on and then come back out and finally got to run it. That was worth every second.”

She said it was a rewarding experience, but still not quite like what she does at home in Spokane, where she teaches cross-fit classes at her gym, Predation Crossfit.

“Now I'm back to work, which I love. This is my bubble. I just love working, and I love coaching these people and working out every day,” she said.
