SPOKANE, Wash — Spokane's Dry Fly Distilling is gearing up for a major expansion project. Wednesday, the local distillery announced they will open a new production facility.

The new facility will be housed in the city’s historic Fleet Service Building located at the intersection of North Normandie Street and West Sinto Avenue.

Dry Fly Distilling has partnered with Seven Seas Export to renovate the building. It is called the Lilac Project.

Dry Fly Distilling is Washington State's first small distillery. They produce thousands of gallons of vodka, gin and whiskey a year. At the current facility Dry Fly’s production capacity is 30,000 maximum annual gallons. It is projected at the new production facility they will be able to produce 250,000 gallons a year.

With the ability to produce more product they plan to sell and distribute to more places with a focus on the Pacific Rim markers.

The Lilac Project is part of a larger urban development project in the area. It will be part of a 5.2-acre mixed use Urban Village which will include medium density housing, office and retail space.

The project is estimated to cost $5 million. Work is expected to begin soon and be completed by January 2020.
