Docs: Court ordered to accept money from Nkechi Diallo, also known as Rachel Dolezal

A motion filed on March 11 orders the clerk of the court to accept payments from Diallo and a future restitution order will direct the clerk to give the funds to the right people.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Nkechi Diallo, formerly known as Rachel Dolezal, has filed an order that would allow her to start paying back funds related to her welfare fraud case.

Diallo is charged with first degree theft by welfare fraud, making false verification and second-degree perjury.

The charges of welfare fraud are related to income she received from a book and other sources while also receiving $8,747 in welfare benefits, prosecutors have said.

A motion filed on March 11 orders the clerk of the court to accept payments from Diallo and a future restitution order will direct the clerk to give the funds to the right people.

Diallo was expected to appear in court Friday for a pre-trial hearing, but it was cancelled.

Diallo resigned from her role as Spokane’s NAACP President when it was revealed she was born to white parents but identified as a black woman.

She was also the subject of a Netflix documentary titled "The Rachel Divide" that premiered on April 27, 2018.
