SPOKANE, Wash. – The company planning to revamp the North Spokane Costco said Friday they are currently fielding offers from possible tenants, and plan to remove the gas station.
The current North Spokane Costco on North Division Street plans to relocate to a new building at 12020 N. Newport Highway, about seven miles north.
Rich Development Enterprises said Monday they are making plans for the old Costco location.
“We’re sifting through all the interest we’ve had,” Greg Vena, the senior vice president said. “Some non-retail stuff, some pure retailers looking at the location…we have been talking to restaurants and retailers for building on the street frontage of the parking lot.”
Vena said they planned to remove the fuel facility over the summer, once Costco has relocated.
“Over the next 60 to 90 days, we’ll have a better idea,” he said. They expect the renovations to get started sometime in the fall, and be finished by late spring or early summer.
Vena said Rich Development Enterprises actually just converted the Bellingham, Washington Costco into a Hobby Lobby, Sierra Trading Post and Home Goods.
