Cross country skiing is coming to the Indian Canyon Golf Course in Spokane.
Fianna Dickson, the communications manager for the city of Spokane, said there will be two short trails for people to explore. One is a three-quarter of a mile trail. There is also a beginner trail that will be 0.8 miles long.
Right now, creating the trails is a challenge. Dickson said there has to be plenty of snow to create the trails. It also has to be consistently cold. There is some concern over ruining the evergreen on the golf course, so a lot of snow would help prevent damage.
The Parks and Recreation department invested in equipment to build the trail. Volunteers will monitor the trail and help guide people.
