SPOKANE, Wash. — The City of Spokane is working to bring a dog park to the downtown area.
City leaders said they have earmarked a triangle location where Sprague and Riverside meet. Construction on the park is already underway.
A rendering of the park shows lots of trees, benches and plants.
The Spokane Public Schools bond that passed Tuesday is expected to help restructure a dog park located on the South Hill.
The bond money will be used to build new schools and upgrade several facilities. Part of that plan included building a new middle school at the site of the dog park on the South Hill. The new plan puts the middle school and the dog park next to each other and restructures the park, instead of closing it.
