CHENEY, Wash. -- A Cheney woman said people pretending to be interested in a Craigslist ad came to her home and took off with her wallet.
Natalya Kapustin was selling her family’s piano. She said a man and woman responded to the ad within a half hour of her posting it.
When those people showed up to her home, Kasputin said the woman asked to use the bathroom while she showed the man the piano.
After the two people left, Kasputin noticed her wallet and everything inside was missing.
“I went to my bank and they told me they used $160 at Jack in the Box, Express and you know I feel horrible,” said Kasputin.
The Sheriff’s Office said they recommend those selling items on Craigslist should take a cell phone photo of the buyer’s ID, so there is something to give to officials if an incident similar to Kasputin’s happens.
