FRANKLIN CO., Wash. -- The body of a missing swimmer has been recovered at Palouse Falls State Park. The swimmer disappeared over a week ago.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office said the body was found late Sunday afternoon. The Franklin County Coroner is now investigating.
The missing man went swimming at the base of a waterfall on April 21. Officials said he and another swimmer were sucked underneath, but only one of them emerged from the water.
Palouse Falls State Park has been closed since the incident. On Saturday, Washington State Parks announced the park is anticipated to reopen on Thursday, May 3.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is not releasing the victim's name until next of kin is notified.
