Spokane County Interstate Fair offers some free admission days and discounted tickets

The fair offers several days of free admission, a parking shuttle and other ways to save money.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Hoping to visit the Spokane County Interstate Fair on a budget? There are several ways to enjoy the fun of the fair without breaking the bank. 

Discounted ticket prices can be purchased until September 5 without any processing fees from the Spokane County Interstate Fair office. Ticket prices for children ages 7 through 13, seniors aged 65 and older and members of the U.S. military with a valid I.D. are reduced to $7. Adult tickets are $10. Children under the age of 6 enter the fair for free. 

These tickets can only be bought at the ticket office during its normal business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. until Thursday, September 5. 

Additionally, group tickets can be bought at a discounted rate if 20 or more people buy tickets together. 

Regular ticket prices are also lower on weekdays. Weekday prices are $13 per person while weekend prices, including Fridays, are $15. 

The second option for budget-friendly fair attendance is to join the festivities on a free admission day. The free admission days are as follows: 

  • Monday, September 9: Guests ages 55 and up can attend the fair all day, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., for free. Parking on Monday is also reduced to $5 and mobility aids can be rented. For more information on this admission day, visit the fair's website.
  • Wednesday, September 11: All military veterans, active duty military, family members of military members, firefighters, EMTs and paramedics, hospital staff and police officers can attend the fair for free. A valid I.D. or work badge must be presented to receive free admission. 
  • Sunday, September 15: Kids aged 13 and under can receive a free admission ticket when they bring a new or gently used coat to the Coats 4 Kids drive. 
  • Sunday, September 15: Anyone employed by a K-12 school or any college can receive free admission from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with a valid school I.D. or paystub. 

Another budget-friendly option for attending the fair includes saving on parking. 

The Spokane Community College offers free parking and a discount on fair admission if guests choose to ride the Spokane Transit Authority shuttle to and from the fair. 

Round-trip shuttle prices are only $2 and guests can show their shuttle ticket at the admissions office to get a discount on fair admission. Adult prices are reduced to $10 and seniors, youth and military are reduced to $7. 

Additionally, on Monday, September 9, parking at the fair is reduced by 50% to $5. 

The fair also says that outside food and drink will be allowed on fairgrounds, so guests can save money by bringing food from home to enjoy. But if you want to enjoy classic fair foods, several booths will offer value items to help guests save money and indulge. 

Finally, the Spokane County Interstate Fair runs several contests through their social media pages where participants have the opportunity to win free fair tickets.
